Let's get weird
Can you have a conversation with one way communication? What do you think? Are you conversing with me? When I say the word posture……..did you just adjust your posture. When I say breath…… do you focus on breath? I’m in your mind man.
WHAT ELSE CAN I DO TO YOU? I can plant seeds of ideas, bad and good ones. I can create confusion, happiness, boredom, excitement etc.. Why are you giving me this power right now. Stop reading. This is the power of the written word. The power of reading. As you’re reading this your neurons are mirroring mines. You can in a sense entire my mind and perhaps even feel as I do and understand me. To perhaps look into me and see a reflection (even a tiny bit) of yourself. Albeit I am quite weird so perhaps you couldn’t relate at all.
Why are you still reading, are you bored, interested, somewhere in between? Perhaps you’re wondering where this is leading. Unfortunately it’s probably going nowhere. If we do get somewhere it’s on accident. I’m trying to create a reading experience for us that’s more personal. I want to open this odd kind of dialogue between us. Doesn’t it feel like we’re interacting or are you just focusing on how fucking weird this is?
I feel connected to you, it feels imaginary and weird as hell. In that case I should keep digging. What are you searching for? You have what you want already. You have the tools to go get it. There are plenty of better blogs and infinite better books out there. Yet you’re here with me. What can I give you? What can you give me?
I suppose I can give you my experience, thoughts, expression and you can perhaps offer some acceptance to my ideas and who I am. The two are hard to distinguish. Ideas and identity. I’ve lived the past 10 years of my life wondering…. well no just plain hating rules. I seen all these rules around me and it didn’t seem to make any sense or make people any happier. I felt culture at some level was a bunch of people agreeing to live by the same rules/ideas. The same with religion and society. I decided in my rebellion to question all the rules, to break all the rules and see what happens. What rules in our lives actually make sense, is there a way to do it better? What rules/ideas are you living by that are limiting? Should they be there?
Of course I agreed with some rules, not murdering people happens to be a pretty a reasonable rule. I like that one. There are obvious examples of rules I dont like, war on drugs, what to do for a living, how to teach and a lot of traditions. There also rules for defining who you are. Saying "I’m X or Y or Z type of person" but we're not. I would often test myself to see how much I could change. I thought I was the type of person who hated clubs, dancing, art and everything related. I love all them now. I changed my empathy, I changed my understanding of others, my perception of the world, my whole identity.
I love adding complexity, weirdness and doing and believing things I never thought I could. I even tried to believe in god 1 day and had a “spiritual” experience and I actually walked by a church that day and I actually had a strong desire… no pull to go in. That’s something I literally never thought I’d feel. I didn’t start believing in god but I understood how easy it is to create these “feelings.” I went from completely closed off to this in one day. I did a similar experiment with looking for answers from the universe and I seen answers and patterns everywhere. I don’t practice either of these anymore but I find it fascinating nonetheless.
The mind is much more malleable than you think. How can you change, do you even want to change? I talked to a life coach who told me he could make a girl orgasm just by touching them on the arm but the other person had to be open to it. He claims it has to do with energies and blah blah blah but I think it’s just power of the mind. There was a tai chi master (this story might be bullshit) who thought that if he just touched people he can make them fly across the room by pulsing energy or chi. It worked incredibly on his disciples he’d barely push with his hands and they’d fly across the room. Here’s an example
To prove his abilities he fought a real fighter but his powers "mysteriously" disappeared and he got his ass kicked. He didn't realize that chi doesn't exist and that it was the cooperation or belief of his students that made the magic work. It's cool to believe in something so strongly that you can have effects like this happen to you. I remember reading how if you closed someones eyes and convinced them you were touching their hand with something piping hot they’d actually get burn marks on their hands (well this isn't so cool actually). Even the placebo effect. It's incredible your mind thinks its being healed therefore it starts to get better.
What if we created these fake realities on purpose? As an experiment to rules and reality. To challenge reality. What if you truly believed in your capacity to change, not because you're awesome or special but just because the brain can do some special things. What if we could do this without believing in bullshit?
I feel crazy right now. This isn’t a dialogue is it. I’m alone in my room. What if I believed that it was though, what if I believed so thoroughly that I made you believe it. Wouldn’t that be great. Can we do that without believing in some magical power? Can we just fake it until we make it?
